The Drum Major for Justice Award: Recognizing an individual whose leadership and service have created meaningful change in Nashville’s communities. “In one of his most famous sermons, Dr. King spoke about the ‘drum major instinct’:  The call to lead, not for recognition, but to serve. He reminded us that a true drum major leads in love, peace, and justice.

Presented to an organization making transformative contributions to unity, equity, and opportunity in Nashville. This award recognizes collective impact, collaboration, and a commitment to building Dr. King’s “Beloved Community.”

Honoring a pastor or church that embodies Dr. King’s vision through bold leadership, justice-driven ministry, and active service to the community/celebrates leaders of the Gospel who stand boldly for justice, nurture community growth, and serve with unwavering conviction. This award will pay tribute to the Interdenominational Ministers Fellowship’s 41-year legacy of faith, unity, and transformative impact.”
